Book Description

A new job, a new love…and someone out for revenge.

Hotelier Kate Quintal and her sister Jen are hired to run a new luxury hotel on Pitcairn Island. Anticipating only the hard work that running the new facility would entail, a burgeoning romance with the burly and handsome Bryce Brown is the last thing she expected. With a new love and the success of the island’s new tourism endeavor, life seems sweet.

So, why are things suddenly falling apart? Who is trying to sabotage the hotel, and why? Kate finds herself fighting, not only for her job, or her heart…but her life

My review

Quintal's return by Nadine Christian is about Kate and Jen Quintal, two sisters who return to Pitcairn Island, their mother's hometown, only to run a hotel. Jen is happy about leaving New Zealand but Kate, on the other hand seems not so interested in the place as it has barely around eighty people living in it. Hence, she lands here with no hope and no expectations on her part. Now her survival solely depends on how well the people of this small Island welcomes the two of them as well as their brand new hotel.

To me, everything in the novel felt so real. The characters especially was a real spot on. Even the word "perfect" will not suffice it. Very few people, and yet very likable. The way in which they help out one another with no regrets and expect nothing in return was very sweet and heavenly. This also tempts me to ask Nadine Christian whether these people are for real?

In this story, Kate and Bryce make quite a couple but I needed a strong reason to believe why he broke up with Celia in the first place. Her jealousy towards Kate almost felt right at that moment. It was her bad intentions and false attitude (I mean Double face)I think gave me a quick view of her not only ugly but a more than disgusting heart. We can also tell she is the only rotten apple on this small Island. When I reconsidered her beautiful, stunning looks and her young age, what she truly lacked was that unconditional love. I can't help except pitying for her.

Nadine has already made me once fell in love with this Island before in her first novel "Remembering Love", and I am so pleased to say this continued in this novel also. Quintal's return started off rather slow, then it blistered off like anything and it didn't lose this pace till the end of the story. It is a very touching tale of not only two hearts but three hearts, and yes,  it's a triangular love story with a happy ending.

Rating 4.5/5

My expectations from the author: No more Pitcairn in her next novel. It's not like I didn't like Pitcairn(I know that is where she lives), it is just that after living twice in that place, thanks to her,  I would love to see a new Island with a whole new set of people.
